I am absolutely thrilled to announce my qualification as a Licentiate with the MPA (Master Photographer Association). I have been working all year on my panel of images and accompanying book so was quite nervous on judging day! The judges were all lovely though and highly praised my work, furthermore I was so pleased to be given a massive score only a few marks off the next level of Associate. They recommended I try for Associate level next year so that's one of my goals for 2017 now.
To qualify you have to prepare 20 images for a certain category (Portrait in my case) and ensure you show at least 10 different commissions with two lots of 5 images from a single shoot. These have to be printed and mounted to a large size and presented to the judges along with a small book containing lighting diagrams, health & safety policies, company practices and creative vision for each picture. There is a tremendous amount of work that goes on in preparation for judging day. When the day came around my knees were literally shaking but I also felt so proud to see my work up on the panel and to hear it praised by some great names from the industry.
I would like to say a heartfelt thankyou to all the lovely clients who allowed me to use their images for my panel and to my family without who's support I wouldn't be where I am today. Also a huge thankyou to Alexandra Lord of Alexandra Lord Photography who was my mentor during this process and provided invaluable insights and direction.
Here is my final panel of images:
